Ethics
For us, starting a business is also a way to give back to important causes and organizations that can use support. Being engaged in this, more than personal profit. If we want change and if we want things to be better, we can’t expect it to originate from others. We must look inward and be the ones taking action. This is why we, ‘Ode.store’ will donate 10% of revenue per year to two nonprofit organizations* (50/50), who are close to our heart. For us it’s a start, a good faith commitment, made with the best intentions. We hope we will sustain this level of giving today and in the future. If our business can’t survive cutting the 10%, we will communicate this openly, before making any changes. We’re trying to be transparent about details - all information regarding donations will be published on our website.
Philosophy
Another part of our story is that we are committed to make our business as sustainable as possible. If we want our planet to remain habitable for generations to come, we must work on this - now! We produce and print everything we offer, locally in Germany. We strive to create products where there is very little waste during production and we pursuit to minimize the use of plastic. We prefer using recycled and environmental friendly materials without sacrificing quality. We store and ship all our products locally, from our Ode.store studio in Berlin. We use DHL Gogreen climate neutral, national and international shipping, which helps to reduce CO2 emissions. We hope that our sustainability story will encourage you, as we also want to encourage ourselves in making our business as sustainable as possible.
Lastly, Ode wants you to know that our artworks are meant to really last a long time. They aren't disposable. We want you to love them, treasure and cherish them forever!
